Paris Fashion Week
Publish on Friday, 26 February 2016
After the haute couture shows back in January, it’s now time to focus on ready-to-wear as Paris Fashion Week from March 1st to 9th presents all the hottest trends for the Autumn-Winter 2016 season.
Fashion meets ready-to-wear
For many years the biggest names in fashion have made their mark on the ready-to-wear market and now showcase their latest collections in the major fashion capitals of the world, competing with all the skills at their command. Their weapons are materials, styles, colours and accessories. Their aim is to lead the way. Galliano, Balmain, Chanel, Agnès B, Elie Saab, Isabel Marant, just to name a few, will be at this year's celebration of fashion. On the podium, the coolly swaying models are muses dressed for tomorrow and it seems the Autumn-Winter look will be incredible. Shoes with vertiginous heels, dresses dreamily draped, plunging necklines, fine lace and unstructured jackets. Classicism and extravagance will be shoulder to shoulder in a whirl of heels, a shimmering of tulle, shape enhancing silk, hairstyles fit for royalty and flashes of brilliance. Fashion Week will present the trends of the coming year, so it’s up to us to open our arms to creativity and daring.
Landmarks in fashion
The Pompidou Centre, the Arab World Institute, the Palais de Tokyo, the Salle Wagram, the Oratory of the Louvre and many other emblematic places in the capital will host the shows of Fashion Week 2016.
